I've checked out the new versions. Split screen is cool

I agree that the stars didn't make a proper impression, they're blinking too fast (and shouldn't be visible during daytime anyway).

Why are the plane sprites blinking though? They weren't in the previous versions.

It is my first time creating split screen.

So I just developed it to be inefficient since it is first the top of my thoughts.

Jesus Christ!hehe

I was just looking at some technology developed back in the days.

It was using flip screens.

So you would draw in another screen while the display one is showing.

Then you would flip to that screen for the next scene.

While that screen is showing you would draw onto the dormant screen.

And such. hehe

That would theoretically eliminate flicker all around.

Unfortunately, I have to take time off to code the entire thing.

So if I am going to develop further, I have to take an unknown time off.

However, I would hate to break my daily schedule.

Is that the same thing as double buffering? (I don't really know a lot of techy terminology but it sounds like the same principle as behind double buffering.)

God - I cannot make this game work perfect yet. However I have changed the sprites to be animal and lightning (or so I tried - my artwork is horrible) hehe

Another slick demo; there's nothing wrong with the sprites... the suns are cool. it's the mechanics that you're after, and it handles pretty good on my screen.

Any chance of getting the arrow keys in addition to wasd and the gamepad? Being a lefty, I find that the arrow keys are easier to use.

Well, the arrow keys are interrupt controlled so it is a little more tricky. However, I am going to see if I can look up the codes for it. Give me by the end of the month hehe - well, on a serious note - I am aiming for Monday with a 2 day break.

You know The Holy Bible says work 6 days - so if I am a real Christian I would only have 1 day break.

Actually if I am brave and want to be crucified I go for 7 days like Jesus hehe

Just call me a coward because I am looking forward to a family life with a wife one day hehe I am weak I know

Well, thanks to Mary, the arrow keys are partly working now. There is still a delay and direction glitch. However, it is a start.

I downloaded the latest three versions and tried them in a row, and this one for some reason froze before drawing the split screens. However, when I restarted DOSBox everything worked fine, and I haven't been able to reproduce the crash so far.

Well, I am totally drained.

I have been so busy with my marriage book completion.

I just completed the entire marriage book - Thank you God from now on!

So theoretically, I am going to have a good marriage now. hehe

Well, you certainly should get a rest, no need to strain yourself!

It is actually good to have a break from what you're doing once in a while, not just to regain strength, but it also helps to digest what you have learned and come up with new ideas.

I'm certain you'll improve your graphics routines with this project, and since you're in no rush just take your time to try various approaches
