Arkanoid (Breakout) clones named Bricks and FX Ball

Post by Guest »

Hello all,
I am looking for two Arkanoid clones that I played in 1990 or 1991 on a DOS PC.
One was named Bricks I think and the other was named something like "FX Ball". I can't remember well but I think the name contained "ball" in it. It had a smooth graphic for those times.

The "Bricks" I am looking for was quite similar with Arkanoid but with a bit better graphics. And it's not "Bricks (1984)(Vincent Bly)" because I just checked that game

Thanks

I'd bet DX Ball or one of the sequels is your 'FX Ball' memory. That one is still fun to break out and play sometimes. (haha)

It was me, I forgot to sign in.
It's not DX Ball, this was released much later, in 1996 for Windows

Oh, right, missed the date thingie! :)

Worth checking through the (long!) MobyGames breakout list. It's arranged by date, so is hopefully easy to browse. (Wish I could figure out how to restrict it to just dos, but the new interface... aargh.)

Bananoid is the only pretty one I remember from that era, and Popcorn. None jump out at me for FX Ball, but maybe something like Super Ball would fit? Moby's dates are often approximate, not actual.

Thanks very much for the help, the list at MobyGames is very good, I will check the games when I will have the time.

Cheers!
