List of racing games with track editors!

Post by travlemon »

Hello,

I am putting together what I call the "master list" of PC racing games with track

editors. I'm a huge fan of racing games that come packaged with track editors, as it

adds infinite replay value to a racing game with great gameplay mechanics.

I've been on an "editor" rage, and this thread is for track editors! I'd like to get an

informative list for anyone searching online for some new options for racing games with

track editors of some kind.

I have heard the following terms used to describe an editor for racing games;

-Track Editor
-Track Designer
-Track Creator
-Track Construction Set
-Track Builder

Here is my current list of racing games that I know of, that are really good. I would

prefer to keep the list limited to games with editors that ship with the game. Or at

least we can identify between the two. Feel free to add to the list!

Racing games that ship with editors:

Crashday (Windows)
Dirt Bike 3D (Windows)
Dust Racing 2D - (Windows) - Free
GeneRally (Windows) - Free - Also inspired by Slicks
International Rally Championship (Windows) - Editor concept similar to GT5 on PS3
Mad Skills Motocross (Windows)
Mania Drive (Windows) - Free
Micro Machines 2 (DOS) - Abandonware
Microsoft Motocross Madness (Windows)
MotoRacer 2 (Windows)
MTX Mototrax (Windows)
MX vs ATV Unleashed (Windows)
Re-volt (Windows)
Road Hog (DOS)
Slicks 'N' Slide (DOS) - Shareware
SODA Offroad Racing (Windows) - great example!
Stunt Driver (DOS)
Stunt Rally (Windows) - Free
Stunts (DOS) - Abandonware
Thunder Wheels (Windows) - Indie game
Tile Racer (Windows) - Free
TrackMania Series (Windows)
Turbo Sliders (Windows) - inspired by Slicks 'N' Slide
Ultimate Stunts (Windows) - Free (Inspired by/based on Stunts DOS game)
V-Rally 2: Expert Edition (Windows)
Xpand Rally (Windows)

Racing games with third party/separate editors:

4x4 Evo 2 (Windows)
Microsoft Motocross Madness 2 (Windows)
Richard Burns Rally (Windows) - Bob's Track Builder
Wacky Wheels (DOS) - Using Camoto

At least you could put that list in alphabetical order ...... BBC code can easily do so.

I knew I forgot one that I probably knew about. Re-volt. I added both of your suggestions to the list, though I'm not too fond of the games themselves. Re-volt's editor is very easy to get bored of.

But hey, this list about about sharing information.

Hey, thank you! I'm currently looking to keep this particular list restricted to Windows and DOS games. Though both of those are great games. I own Unbounded and have played Racing Destruction Set before. Great games!

Sure! I put it under the list of games with unofficial/third party editors. I looked up Camoto, I think I'm going to have to check that out. Sounds very cool!
