Post subject: I'm looking for this game I used to play at school.... |

I'm trying to find a game I used to play when I was in primary school, so I'm guessing it was released sometime in the 90s.
In the game you were stuck on an island and you had to go around the island finding objects and using them to solve puzzles along the way in your quest to escape the island. I think it was called Isle of Java but I'm not 100% sure. I do know that you controlled your movements in the games by typing commands into a box under a screen that showed what you were looking at on the island, eg 'Pick up match', 'Go west' that sort of thing.
I was in love with the game but I never got to finish the game which was quite disappointing.
If anyone has heard of this game and/or can help me track down a copy of it it would be greatly appreciated |

The name starts out with the same word but that where the similarities end...
The game I remember was no where near as gory! - It was one of the few games we were actually encouraged to play in computer class at primary school.
I don't think you used the mouse at all in the game - to move around the island you typed directions into a box at the bottom of the screen. I always used to get lost and go around in circles because I'd forget which direction I came in! I think at some point there on the island there is a lagoon. I also vaguely remember discovered a red (maybe orange) submarine in a hidden underground cavern (at least i think i remember there being a submarine - people Ive spoken to from school remember the game but not everyone remembers a submarine).
The graphics I remember seem to be similar quality to isle of the dead though if that helps! |
