My Windows Xp laptop just froze on me. I tried to push the off button put the screen down and alt, ctrl, delete. I had to unplug the laptop and take out the batery then put the batery back in and turn the laptop back on. If you have a XP and you have dos games i would reccomend not using them without Dos Box like i tried to do. The computer was still running when it froze but i could not do anything and i wwas stuck in a balck screen. Dos games with windows xp without dos box . |

you have faulty PCs... that and you over heat your processors by increasing the number of cycles on DOSBox too much!
And, you know... you left out many important OSs:
and many others...
And provided I have an IBM PC I vote for Win XP, it works flawlessly, and despite Win9x and before the support is not discontinued |

What advantages does Win2k have over XP? (I'm not challenging your opinion, I've just never really used 2000 so I dunno how it differs.) |

Well, Win2k is just as compatible with newer stuff as XP. And it's much more secure. I also haven't had any system freezes on it. Plus, it runs more smoothly than XP Home on my eMachines computer.
On faster computers, Windows XP Pro is not bad, per se, but the computers I work with can't handle it.
...Speaking of the eMachines compy, I need to get to back to work on it. It's in about five different pieces. >_> |

Being 14, and helped fix people computers since i was about 8, mainly re-installing Os'es and such, got me to know what operating system is best.
here:
Windows 95: most slow computers use it, isnt that functinal
windows 98: best Os for computers that arent up to scratch for xp
XP: virus galore |

| I have used a windows 98 before and it i did not like it. Most of the programs that ran on the win 95 i used to have did not run on the windows 98. I got video card errors, soun card errors. It was slower than the 95 which had 256 mb ram and was a high end pentium 2 with a good sound card and a good video card. To get sound for the win 98 i ended up using pc speaker. It was also slower than the 95. |
