Try the forsale newsgroups or EBAY

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3404437733&category=3762

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3403324364

Thanks for the links. They say US sales only, so I am a little out of luck there, I am in Canada. So the search continues .

wait, according to my tower, it's an 3D S3 ProSavage 8 (keep in mind, I have no idea what any of this means).

S3 is the company that made the video card or just the GPU
ProSavage 8 is the chipset that S3 or someone else made (Anyone can make a chipset and call it whatever they want)
3D means it has special 3-D support that old video cards don't have.

I'm using a Radeon 9000LE 64 MB AGP and, er, this is my first PC so I haven't got anything to compare it with. It seems okay most of the time anyway. First post!

Anything with MX in the model number by Nvidia sucks. I got the 9000 ATI new for $69 shipped and it has dx 8.1 all in hardware (unlike the gf4mx and gf2).

There are faster cards but for the features and money spent the 9000 was a good deal.

gf4mx is direct x 9 compatable... it just lacks pixel shaders and hardware TnL.

my current card is a geforce 6600gt pcie 128mb and it sucks for new games like nfsmw but runs fine for ut2k4....

Currently my video card is ATI Raedeon 9600 Series. (Gigabyte)
It is 256 MB DDR (AGP)
It supports both analog and digital monitors, and has TV Out.

Prior to that it was ATI Raedeon 9550 SE (Sapphire)
It was 128 MB DDR (AGP)
It supported both analog and digital monitors and had TV Out.

Within the next few months I will probably upgrade it to 512MB!

Both cards support DirectX 9.0c however didn't need to install.

You do understand that hardware T&L goes back to the original Geforce 1 card, and if you think any games that need it can run well with dx9.0 compatability using software and the CPU you are nuts.

I thought we were suposed to talk about graphic cards used in dos machines, but maybe "I make error stupid" Blissful
On my main PC I have a Leadtek 7600GT (gpu@560Mhz, 256*dd3@1400Mhz, 128-bit).

On my dos-machine a have a S3 Trio 3D / 4MB Ram and a 3dfx Voodoo2 accellerator. The problem is that I never figured out how to use it under DOS, so Carmageddon is still crappy. Crying

Some games needed card specific 3d patches to get hardware acceleration to work.
