I remember I used to play this game long back (late 80s?). There used to be a scrolling object at the bottom, which you can move left rite and shoot from it.

on the top you used to get objects coming from left and right.

And they did use to drop something. Your mission was to shoot those things.

I can't remember exactly whether the falling objects were paratrooper or some kinda (rectangle - white) box.

It was infinite times better than the paratrooper game.

Well..it used to shoot only vertical.

And one more thing....the things which were supposed to be shot used to fly around

How many colors where the graphics? Where they CGA, with Black, white, magenta, and cyan? Your game could be one of millions, not to disappoint you or anything, it's just the description is so vague, though you may not be able to remember more.

I guess these flying objects were like some kind of creatures and dropping rectangular white boxes below on you.

When you shoot the white object the creature explodes along with the white box.

If you get hit by any of the falling white boxes, you are gone!

And you in the game are like this

The vertical bar fires the dotted shots. (similar to paratrooper)
And the whole body can move left-rite to shoot the above flying objects.

No, its not ACK ACK

I just saw the screen shot of ACK ACK.

Its not the one!

Like I said, the thing which fires the shots is movable (L-R) and its not static. Yes, it can fire only vertical shots. Thats may be be cause it movable, so you dont need the power to rotate the firing handle.

In all the paratrooper games, the firing thing is fixed and its only the top handle which rotates.
