| Is downloading live performances of bands/artists illegal? And I also mean from actual websites not from Kazza, etc and not from actaul Live cd's that are in shops,I mean live recordings from people at shows. Doesn't Mettalica approve of it. I wanted to ask this becuase I was going to ask for some links but first I thought I better check if this is ok. |

| I think it's still illegal, because it's the band's music, no matter who recorded it. |

| It would be illegal I think, since you would have to buy tickets to see it. |

According to standard copyright law conventions, if the band and recorder give permission to copy the music file, it's OK. It may be hard to find out whether you have permission or not (look for a message that says "Unauthorized copying is prohibited" or something like that. If you can't find one, it should be OK to download it, if anyone accuses you of being a pirate, say "Hey, maybe they gave me permission, prove it to me that they didn't".)
Albeit if you live in Canada, it's OK to download music anyway. |

I don't think you're allowed to record performances, so I think downloading illegally -recorded music is illegal. |

| I think that is what everybody is saying, except some ISPs now have a policy of if you download music we put a tab on your account for $1.00 - $4.00 per song!! |
