The cops are too busy to enforce (C)opyright law, so we have groups like the ESA, CAAST, RIAA, BSA, etc. to try to reduce/eliminate piracy.
What about PETA?

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

They've done some really stupid stuff. Every time I almost become a vegitarian, I just look at their publicity stunts and eat a big dead animal.

yeah. the only reason i'd become vegetarian is because of the healthy aspect of it, but most of the uinhealthy stuff i eat is non-meat anyway, so i'll just live with my walrus-sized legs.

Jay, would you mind quoting the verse where you got the conception that women are weaker from? (Yes I know it's there, I just want to see it and I also want to know how it effects how good they are at policing...)

I always assumed that to be a verse saying "husbands, be gracious to your wives and don't abuse them" not "since women are physically (though the bible doesn't say anything about mental) weaker then men, they shouldn't be cops." In any case, there are plenty of women who are stronger then men (that wieghtlifting champ would put me to shame), and even though most men are stronger, the women who will generally sign up to be cops will be of the "strong" minority. In any case, I think it should be up to the officers to decide... I mean, if there's a dude that's such a sissy that the only thing he's willing to do is go after software pirates then most likely a woman police officer would do a more effective job then him-the courage makes up most of the battle.

Well, if the cops would rather go through time-consuming strength testing for everyone (many factors: height, weight, bench press, push-and-pull exercise) then so be it.
They already do. To become a police officer you need to go through some 6 months of police academy which includes rigorous physical and mental training/testing along with gun handling, car driving, and etc. You can't just walk into a police station and sign up for being a cop.

As for the whole Copy Right infringement Department: No thanks. The ESA frequently falsely accuses people of piracy when they are innocent. (IIRC, Dosgames.com has been accused at least twice) If they were to (falsely) arrest people each time some idiot says they have been committing piracy.
