Arcade-ish game about spaceships - 2000s

Post by Karinrinkashi »

Hey guys,

I want to know what the name of this game is that i used to play sometime in early 2000s (2000-2004ish). It was based around small spaceships that you could fly around. But it wasn't space based, it was based in these small mini maps (small objects, almost like toy soldier maps). The whole map was destructible, made out of colorful blocks. These blocks would hold shields, weapons, lasers, mines. You could play 4 player free for all (same keyboard/splitscreen), teams, or vs AI as co-op. It was called space-something. Graphics were 3Dish.

I played it on windows, 3rd person from the top looking down (like GTA 2), very colorful and casual type of game.

It was very smooth but not a very big budget game, i am not sure how to describe it any better.

Any ideas?

Random guess: Star General? Maybe not colorful/arcadish enough though.

(You did not mention what platform you used, I assume Windows)

I found another game: 'colors of war', which has some space backgrounds, but are not using spaceships...it's colorful enough anyway:
