Hey guys,

I played this game in the early/mid 90's at school and also at a friend's house. It was either DOS and/or Windows based. I can't remember.

The game was mostly if not only black and white and the starting point was somewhere off the coast of Newfoundland. There was a fog of war and the sailing path revealed the map.
I don't remember the goal of the game... Finding the Northwest passage perhaps? It was possible to portage and there may have been fur trade/hunting/scavenging elements.

The era of the game may have been the mid 1400's, the discovery and exploration of North America by Jacques Cartier, John Cabot or the likes.

I sucked at the game and never understood how to play it and I now have a need to play and finish this game to finalize my childhood gap.

Long shot, Colonization?

I was looking for a list of "wooden ship" games but didn't come up with it quickly. Might be worth searching that.

Any chance it was Mac? Or monochrome monitor and color game?
