Its the full version of the first rayman game.

Now then, what's the problem?
The "full game" as you say is a CD or a CD image, simply mount it and follow those guidelines:
First for dosbox:
If on XP:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5443
If on Vista:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10437

and then install-run the game:

As you can't write savegames on a CD you need to INSTALL the game on your virtual C: in dosbox.

After you have done what's in the first link, input:

mount d e:\ -t cdrom
d:
setup

full install(approx 43Mb) path choosen c:\rayman, sound:sb16/220/irq7/dma1

after install:
c:
cd rayman
rayman

after restart dosbox:
mount d e:\ -t cdrom
c:
cd rayman
rayman

my cd drive is e: so i did mount d e:\ -t cdrom. Is that right?

Yes, that's it.

After mounting your CD drive input:

d:
install

(I will assume that your virtual C: is auto mounted, you don't give many details ......)

[Edit]
Found an old post about the same:
Seems you need to input setup, not install... *sigh* ah my ol'memory .....*

It is very easy:
dosbox
-> mount d x:\ -t cdrom <enter>
-> mount c e:\games <enter>
-> d: <enter>
-> setup <enter>

full install(approx 43Mb) path choosen c:\rayman, sound:sb16/220/irq7/dma1

after install:
->c: <enter>
->cd rayman <enter>
->rayman <enter>

after restart dosbox:
-> mount d x:\ -t cdrom <enter>
-> mount c e:\games <enter>
-> c: <enter>
-> cd rayman <enter>
-> rayman <enter>
and here we go with the loose hands.....
Happy
:

Adapt the mount lines to match yours.
BTW, it's possible that you will need to create a BIN/CUE image to get sound working properly on Vista, use imgmount and point to the CUE file to mount the image as D: drive in dosbox.

If you still have troubles I will have to find my Rayman CD and reinstall the stuff to check some things out ......

okay, i tried doing this.
but i got as far as "setup".
and now it keeps saying "illegal command: setup."

what to do?

You're doing it all wrong friend ..... *sigh*
In Vista, that's how to install dosbox:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10437
Do you have a partitioned hard disk? Do you have a partition called E: ?
Then you must mount e:\oldgames\ as virtual C:.

Next:
Dosbox version? And:
Details, what is in this download of yours? A CD image? What is it?
If you don't give relevant info we can't help you further.

okay...

(thanks for your help by the way.)

i went to my :e, which is the disc drive, made a new folder called "oldgames". went to DOSBox Configuration and put "mount c "e:\oldgames".
but now when i open DOSBox it says:

c:
drive c does not exist!
you must mount it first.

it also did this when i just did as the link said and had a folder called oldgames in :c. i've done completely as the link told to do, but it still doesn't want to work?

Are completely contradictory.

Or you should explain me how you created a "oldgames" folder on your CD drive ......

You know what; follow this to the letter:
http://www.dosgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10437
And come back then.... OK?

okay. so now i have an "oldgames" folder under users>>my name, and i've put it in the DOSBox configuration.

but when i reeopen DOSBox it keeps saying that i need to mount. and when i try to do that in the DOSBox by typing:

mount c c:\brugere\liv\oldgames

it says:
the directory mount c c:\brugere\liv\oldgames doesn't exist.

i really can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.

You're welcome, and still can get the help you need, if you want.

Should you still be around: you probably made typos, that's all.

In Windows right click on your 'oldgames' folders and select 'properties', that will give you the full and correct path to your folder, that's the one you need in dosbox.
[Edit]
BTW, if E:\ is your CD drive, do you by any chance have a D:\ partition on your hard disk? It would make some things simpler ....
