Post subject: Board problems *sigh* |
|
|
Okay, the board is fixed. If you're interested in what the problem was, here is the thread on the phpBB help board that I read in order to fix the problem. It sort of describes what happens to cause it:
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=39397
At least when this board screws up I can get help with it. I'll probably apply the patch described in that thread tomorrow to try to prevent this from happening again .........
Please do not complain about the board being down ... it may happen once in awhile. In the grand scheme of things, it's REALLY not a big deal, trust me. Anywho ... if anyone is having trouble logging in (probably not) try clearing out your cookies and try again .....
Thank you, that is all ... |

| So it wasn't your fault? Da_goat told me you hacked the code. |

Da_Goat is mistaken if that's what he told you. I did email him today because he emailed me to ask why the board was down, but I don't think I mentioned anything about "code hacking". I have made two hacks to the phpBB code:
1) To remove the COPPA signup crap for people younger than 13
2) To stop the board from automatically forwarding you when you post a message (user requested)
Neither of these were the cause of the board being down. If you read the thread I posted above, it explains quite clearly what the problem was. |

Hi, this is Ally. No, it really is. The reason I am posting like this is that I tried to change my password and stuffed it up. Now I can't get into my account. Emmzee or DB, can you please delete my name from the list, and I will register again soon!
Thanks. |

This is rather easy to fix, I can just reset her PW. I'll send her an email to clear this up. I'm fairly sure its her, the IP the person used resolves to .au ... but just in case ... |
