Hi everybody! Happy

I used to have a CD with all kinds of Windows 95 and DOS games on it, including a platform game where you manouvre a robot through several levels. Every ten levels or so levels you had a boss to defeat (or only at the end, I can't remember).

It wasn't 3D, more Mario-like.

More details: the robot could shoot. Also, I remember a hard to defeat boss that (dis)appeared after it shot you a few times. Appearing and disappering always involveld a lot of pixels. Wink

Unfortunately that's all I remember. Does anyone know the name of this game?

(I'm from the Netherlands by the way, so I hope it wasn't just a game for Holland. Wink)

Electroman? (aka "Electro Body")

If so, you can download it here:

Nope, looks way to sleek and 3D to be it... Thanks for replying though!

Hmmm, okay then possibly Roboman:

Or Robomaze II:

Either one of those are available on the same page:

If it's not one of those, I'm out of ideas. Happy

Aahh no, not it... Sad Thanks for helping!

I've searched the internet for any game with 'robo' or 'robot' in the name, but I don't think that's the right way to go for it. Confuzzled

I do think it has 'man' in the name... and maybe a number.

And about the graphics: it's somewhere in between the first and second example. Happy (So not that 3d, but better graphics than the last shown game.)

Hopefully it rings a bell! And otherwise... well, I'm still searching anyway. Wink

ARGH!

I had this entire post ready and it was erased 'cause I put in a link. Sad

Anyway, I wanted to thank dosraider. Unfortunately the posted games weren't the ones I was looking for. Sad However, I remember a bit more, so I made a little drawing of the 'boss' level.

http://www.plaatjesupload.nl/bekijk/2008/06/23/1214244020-860.jpg

(Hope it works now.)

1 and 2: where the boss (dis)appears
3: you, the robot, firing bullets
4: a trampoline, thanks to which you could avoid the bullets the boss fired at you

Behind 1 or 2 there was a wall that opened up after you defeated the boss.

I also remember the background being gray(ish). Not very dark. The game didn't have as much shadow as the games dosraider posted.

Good call 486 player, I actually was trying to remember the name of that one!

This screenshot pretty much confirms it:

You can download it at the bottom of this page:
http://www.andrew-turnbull.net/microman.html

There's also a new updated version apparently:
http://www.hipsoft.com/mmcc.jsp

(Trivia: Microman was created by Brian Goble (now part of Hipsoft) who also created "Roboman" that I linked above ... you can even see similarities between the main characters of the two games! Happy)
