Post subject: Multiple disk installation problem |
|
|
Hi eveyone!
ive had a quick search for ana answer but couldnt find one so i do apologise if this has already been answered 10000000 times
Ive downloaded 100's of old games from bittorrent and most of them work ok running them straight from the .exe files without installing them, but theres quite a few that need to be installed.
Now my problem is when i go to install them, it asks me to "insert disk 1" or disk 2, but because ive downloaded them they arent on seperate disks, so so how do i get it to see the one root folder as all the disks?
i remember when i was a kiddy, making batch files to get around it but that was like 15 years ago! dos is like a foreign language now hehehe
just incase u need to know, im running Win98 on an old Pentium 400, 512 RAM NOT dosbox or any other emulators
cheers |

Write the needed disk1/disk2/..... on floppies and run the installs.
Or use dosbox, it works in W98.
Mount the folder with the install files as A drive.
It will get you through the install routine, I doubt if dosbox will run swell on your config, but once installed you can run them directly.
Other solution: google around for a virtual floppy drive that works in W98.
Maybe *maybe* you can do something that way.
Whatever, enjoy the bittorrent files.
I may hope you did a Avir run on them. |
