X-Com on Mac OS X within DOSbox

I have DOSBox up and running just fine, and can play a handful of games. X-Com however is continually giving me a "This program can not be run in DOS mode." error. I have tried a handful of different downloads of the game, but every single one gives the same error.

I assume that all of the downloads I have tried are the windows gold version of the game, hence the error?

Does anyone know any way to remedy this? Or some place to get a version that will work within DOSbox? I have the original floppies for the game around here somewhere, but don't have access to a floppy drive to get the game that way.

Your possibilities:

Find someone with a brain and a real computer (also known as PC user) and ask him to make images of your floppies, send them to you and mount the images as A in dosbox.

Or go on Abandonia and download the dosversion, they have both the Win and Dosversion there, it's listed there as UFO-Enemy unknown.
The dosversion is downloadable from the bottom of the game sheet.

[Edit]
Also:
Install W3.11 in dosbox and run the windows version. (But it's easier to download the dosversion).

If you have an Intel Mac and don't want to spend money, you could always download and install Ubuntu Linux (set up a partition or emulate it in the Q emulator).

If not, do what dosraider says. Because Windows 2000 sort of lurches on my PowerPC Mac.

It DOES matter when emulating Windows.
