1) I doubt Australians have real peanuts. Probably just nasty imitation crap.
2) FTW, peanut butter & jelly = ultimate meal, any time of day.
Edit: Oh! I'm not sure if you know (dunno local dialect), but American Jelly = Marmalade/Jam kind of stuff. Preserved fruit. It's NOT gelatin. (or "jello" as we call it)

1. Oh we have peanuts, fresh in their shells. They even grow em in QLD.
2. Marmalade is awesome! Orange Marmalade.
Anyway I don't believe in the foods that Americans eat constantly, it only makes them FAT! |

It took me a long while watching American tv to work out why anyone in their right minds would put jelly on a sammich.
When i realised that you crazy foreigners call JAM jelly, it made even less sense.
Peanut butter is yummy. On it's own.

US is currently at 32%, so you have us beat - but not by that much.
Actually, I don't know why there are so many fat Americans - I've never been fat and don't think I ever will be... maybe one of the problems is that childhood obesity is skyrocketing. It used to be, if you were a kid and fat, everyone made fun of you at school until you decided to stop eating so much. Now that everyone pretends obese people aren't really fat, they're just suffering from a "disease", so they feel more social acceptance of their gluttony and keep stuffing their faces full of crap?
Either way, it's kind of sad... |

GAH.
Don't get me started.
Obesity makes me really angry.
We have plus stores everywhere, and it's not pc to even use the word OBESE anymore because, "oh no...it might offend!"
It SHOULD offend, and then maybe they'd do something about it.
Totally agree with Dogbreath.
ALSO...if obesity is totally acceptable, and it's impolite to point out how huge someone is, why is it acceptable for people to judge me by my weight and say, "man, eat some more you RAKE." or, "You're anorexic!" ??
I'm a size 6 - A HEALTHY SIZE 6. There is nothing wrong with being a size 6. It's just that in comparison to "realistic" sizes...aka FAT models (who are UNHEALTHY) i am a lot smaller... It pisses me off that magazines are all on the band wagon to promote "realistic body image" by showing women that are size 16+. Doesn't this tell me that i'm not attractive? That I'M not realistic because i'm a healthy weight??
I don't understand why i should be made to feel bad, not to mention not be able to find clothes that sit flush against my stomach, because society caters for people who are unhealthy? I am healthy, and i look good...why should i be punished for that?
I honestly can't find nice high waisted clothes because the waists are made to accommodate for pot bellies. Sorry if i'm healthy and toned. Damn.
I could go on for ages. But i'll stop now.

dogbreath, seriously its all these Restaurants like McDonalds, KFC, some bakery food etc etc that cause them
Everyone goes there for a quick meal which turns out to be not so quick after they look at the size they get
Fatty Foods apparently ease stress, just like cigarettes. Only fatty foods don't cause cancer.... yet |

Fact:
In Dachau there weren't obese persons.
(not a nice saying, but it's the crude reality)
Sometimes obese people likes to say:
'I even get fat drinking a glass of water, it's my metabolism'
Dachau and all the other concentration camps that ever existed anywhere in mankinds history prove they are lying.
On the other hand, if they want to live like that, I don't have a problem with that, but they can't say they can't do something about it if they want to.
And yes, I agree with Dogbreath, begins probably when they are small children. Bad nutrition habits learned as small child last a life time.

I disagree with that, it's also a health problem, and it can cause cancer.

Very true - the prevalence of fast food and processed food has caused most of the problems with obesity. And, unlike a lot of obese McDonald's goers tell you, healthy food doesn't cost more, and it doesn't take much time to prepare.
Take me for example. I cook once or twice a week, and then feast of leftovers. Last week I made a simple ground turkey/spinach rotini. Just boiled the Rotini, chopped up 2 tomatoes, 2 mushrooms, and long strips of spinach, cooked some turkey, and heated up and spiced a jar of this organic pasta sauce. (Newman's Own) Mixed all together, and viola! Great tasting, healthy food for a week! Total cost for groceries was US $14 - whereas if you eat at McDonald's, the average meal is $5, so 7 times a week = US $35 for a weeks worth of food. Total cooking time was 45 minutes, plus another 10 for washing dishes.
For breakfast I just have peanut butter toast (with LOTS of Jelly ) and oatmeal/cereal and eat sandwiches for lunch - again, in the time it'd take me to drive to the nearest KFC, wait in line, and order, I can easily prepare a sandwich or pour milk/hot water into a bowl.
I really think it's just that people don't plan out meals, so they don't shop for groceries right, and then think "oh, I don't have any food... I'll just stop at x" every day. |

I used to cook all the time, but nowadays, I just eat my $2 Healthy Choice frozen meals....and I get freshmen to swipe into the school dining hall. mwhahahah
But, seriously, a loaf of bread is only a dollar, a package of turkey is $5, and a bag of pretzels is $2.50. For $8.50 I can eat lunch for a week! |
