If you're on XP follow this to set up dosbox:

Download elf11.zip from http://www/dosgames.com/
Shareware version, episode 1.

After setting up correctly dosbox unzip the archive files in
c:\games\elf\
Run dosbox, input


cd elf
elf1

Use esc ingame to enable music /sfx sounds / load / save game ....

No setup needed, all sounds work fine on a default dosboxconf.
