Bioforge in dosbox 0.70
For good understanding, this 'howto' is about the full original game, not about an incomplete or faulty rip.
Dosbox 0.70 is freshly installed, means:nothing altered in the config file (yet ...).
*EDIT
Tested in dosbox 0.71 too, works flawless.

Put your Bioforge CD in the drive.
Run dosbox, at the prompt -(that Z:\> thingy)- input those lines, hit <ENTER> after each line.
The X is your REAL CDdrive letter in windows.
mount d X:\ -t cdrom
d:
install
You will get an install menu,
Destination C:\bioforge
Type: MEDIUM (recommended)
HDspace required: 30.6 MB
blablabla.....
Accept the settings here, control that install bioforge is highlighted and hit <ENTER>.
Takes some time .....
You will get a red submenu : done, press any key to continue, so hit a key.
Next menu: Soundcards and settings.
VERY IMPORTANT!! FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS OR THE GAME WILL HANG!!
First:Change Digital Card Setup, highlight and hit <ENTER>
submenu, choose
SOUNDBLASTER 16
Adr 0x220
IRQ 7 **Is set originally to 5, alter to 7, or game WILL hang**
DMA 1
Next highlight Change Music Card Setup
Choose:Soundblaster 16 ,nothing further to do,
highlight Save settings and exit , hit <ENTER>.
This will leave you at the c:/>bioforge prompt.
input bioforge and play.
If you've done it all right, you get an intro, and a choice menu for combat,
choose the EASY one to begin, t'll you get the game in your fingers.
In the game begin you can do nothing, wait t'll the screen has had some
shakings and your cyborg stands up, here you start to play.
Combat mode: hit C once, and fight.
Good luck, you gonna need it in your first fight.
The game submenu: hit o(save, exit, sound levels, ..whatever...)
Next time you want to play:
Run dosbox, input:
mount d X:\ -t cdrom
c:
cd bioforge
bioforge
Bioforge must find his CD to run, but...
Create an ISO from the CD (I used WINISO, ASPI setting) and save it as
x:\path\bf.iso
instead of
mount d X:\ -t cdrom
use:
imgmount d x:\path\bf.iso -t iso
Works fine. You can also use the ISO for the installation, no problem.
You don't need your costly CD anymore, put it back in the CDbox and leave it there.( Or use it as a frisbee).
Ingame hit alt+enter to go full screen.
If the game runs jerky, kill all that's running on the background, and kill the music.
Any recent PC can run Bioforge in dosbox 0.70.( mine is almost 2 years old now, and it runs Bioforge flawless).
*Edit
Is tested in dosbox 0.70 but should also apply to any version higher than 0.70
